About This Course:
As one course among many offered in the American Management Association's
curriculum, Compensation: How to Develop Effective Reward Programs has been
designed specifically for the practicing manager and the future manager. It
provides private, self-paced, individualized study; learning and self evaluation
through in-text exercises.
William T. ("Tim") Haigh is managing director of W.T. Haigh & Company, Inc.,
a human resources consulting firm, which he founded in 1985. Specializing in
executive compensation, the company provides services in total compensation
strategy, reward system design, performance management, and communications.
Prior to starting his own firm, Haigh worked as director of Worldwide
Compensation and Benefits at General Foods and as a consultant for Citibank and
Sibson & Company. He was formerly chairman of the board of the American
Compensation Association and currently is a course leader for its executive
compensation certification courses. Haigh frequently teaches and leads executive
compensation seminars and has authored several publications,
including a book entitled Out performers , which was published by AMACOM. He
graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The author
