Emery A. Trahan is an assistant professor and the Joseph G.
Riesman Research Professor in the Finance and Insurance Group of the College of
Business Administration at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. He has served
as a senior accountant for Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. and as controller for a
wholly owned subsidiary of Interpace Corporation. Dr. Trahan has published
articles on corporate financial policy and strategy in a wide variety of finance
journals and co-authored the third edition of A Financial Approach to Mergers
and Acquisitions for the American Management Association. He is active in many
finance associations, teaches in several executive education programs, and
consults on corporate finance and valuation issues. Professor Trahan holds a
bachelor of science degree in accounting and a master's and a doctoral degree in
financial economics, and is a certified public accountant.
William E Crittenden has taught courses on such topics as
industry and environmental analysis, strategy formulation, and strategy
implementation as associate professor of strategy and policy at the College of
Business Administration at Northeastern University. Professor Crittenden also
taught at the University of Arkansas and Florida State University, and has
lectured at the Center for Industrial Science and Technology in Dalian, China,
and at Banco Nacional de Comercio Exterior in Monterrey, Mexico. He is part of
the core faculty for executive education at the International Marketing
Institute in Chestnut Hill, MA, and has consulted with various private, public,
and nonprofit organizations. A member of numerous professional organizations,
Dr. Crittenden has research and teaching interests in business strategy and
policy. He has published in such journals as Information and Management,
Strategic Management journal, and journal of Managerial Issues. Dr. Crittenden
holds a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Michigan, a master's
degree in business administration from Auburn University, and a doctorate from
the University of Arkansas.
